Weeds in my Garden | Week Two

In our struggle with mental health we need truth.

Because of Jesus…

We are known

“What matters supremely, therefore, is not, in the last analysis, the fact that I know God, but the larger fact which underlies it—the fact that He knows me. I am graven on the palms of His hands. I am never out of His mind. All my knowledge of Him depends on His sustained initiative in knowing me. I know Him because He first knew me, and continues to know me.” – JJ Packer

Psalm 139:1-3

1 Lord, you have searched me and known me.

2 You know when I sit down and when I stand up;

you understand my thoughts from far away.

3 You observe my travels and my rest;

you are aware of all my ways.

Psalm 139:13-14

For it was you who created my inward parts;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise you

because I have been remarkably and wondrously made.

Your works are wondrous,

and I know this very well.

Hebrews 4:15

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin.

We are loved

“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything.” – Tim Keller

Romans 5:8

But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us

Eph 3:17-19

I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, 19 and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

1 John 3:1

See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are!

We are accepted

Eph 1:3-5

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. 5 He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will
