WHAT WE BELIEVE

GOD

We teach that there is one God – expressed and known through the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.   (Matthew 3:16-17, John 14:9-10)

We teach that God is the Creator of human life and all things.  (Genesis 1:1, Acts 17:24-28)

We teach that Jesus is the one and only son of God and the Savior of all humankind. (John 1:14, John 3:16)

THE BIBLE

We teach that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the final authority for our lives.  By submitting to it, we are led into a full life in Jesus.  (2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12)

PEOPLE

We teach that when humankind willfully sins against God, we are separated from a relationship with Him.  (Isaiah 59:2, Romans 3:23)  Salvation comes by grace through Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross.  (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:6-11)

SALVATION

We teach that the pattern to receive Jesus and follow him is to trust in Jesus, repent of our sin, confess Jesus as Christ and Lord, and be immersed in baptism.  (2 Peter 3:9, Romans 10:9-11, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-7)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We teach that the Holy Spirit lives in every person who trusts in and follows Jesus. (Acts 2:38, John 16:5-15)

BAPTISM

Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.”

THE CHURCH

We teach that the church is the body of Jesus here on earth and is made up of professing christians everywhere. (Matthew 16:13-18, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13)  The church is governed and led by elders, leaders and shepherds. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4) The church is supported by its members through serving, generosity and living on mission. (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Malachi 3:9-12)

MARRIAGE

We teach that God has created each of us uniquely as male and female. His intent is for marriage to be a monogamous, lifelong loving relationship between a man and a woman.  We teach that His design for sex is exclusively within the context of a Biblical marriage.  The husband and wife relationship is a beautiful reflection of the relationship between Jesus and the church. (Genesis 1:27-28,Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:22-33)
